Silent Universe on Sonic Society
Awsome note- over on the increasingly popular Podcast Pickle directory, the Society now sits at number 3. Three. Tres'. III.
The fans know what they likey. :-)
NYT goes Podiobook CRAZY
At any rate- check out this AWESOME article that features all your fave podiobookers- JC, Sigler, Mark Jeffrey, and the Sarge himself, Tee Morris.
Yeah, they talk about Evo too, but hey- that's a given. ;-)
You know, I never even thought about podcasting in the closet- I've got a nice-sized one too, just like Siglers. If I could just get all my equipment up there- what a GREAT flipping idea!
Check out the article- I'm so excited by all this media exposure of podcasting, and dammit, you should be too!
Podcaster gets a little TV time
I can't even wrap my mind around 3 million downloads since last July... yeah that's not a typo.
I'm so happy for her, and this just helps the podcasting world in general, I think.
See, awesome things DO come out of Arizona!

If two satellites merge and no one hears it...
Feb. 19, 2007 — ABC News has confirmed reports that two satellite radio providers XM and Sirius will announce a long-anticipated merger today.
The two companies worked over the weekend to finalize a plan that is expected to be structured as a "merger of equals," although ABC News has learned the plan calls for Sirius CEO Mel Karamzen to run the new company.
The merger would require regulatory approval as well as anti-trust scrutiny.
Kevin Martin, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, reportedly said last month that a merger could not be approved under current FCC regulations.
The Language of Emus
Some even form a podcast from this miraculous advancement, like the gang at The Mep Report. From their website:
"The Mep Report is the world's only transcontinental conversational podcast. Bringing three old friends together from the far corners of the US, it harnesses the rampaging wit of these champion debaters to bridge the gap between politics, movies, sports, 80s cartoons and overweight birds. It is, by far, the funniest emu-centric radio show on the Internet. Really.
The Mep Report is composed of three young men who came together through the Brandeis University debate team. Now graduated and thrown to the winds, they find themselves in Berkeley, Brooklyn, and Beverly Hills. They come together via the internet on Wednesdays. Special guests may also appear."
I checked out their latest episode, and listened to their highlight about George Bush and Stem Cell research- oh that was pretty funny- and borderline wrong! (which is probably why I loved it- I'm so NOT into political correctness).
Head to the link and give them a listen yourself!
Podiobook to check out: Discovered Country
The book is about Rosemary Halpern, a mild-mannered librarian from Boston, found herself trapped hundreds of years in the future. A future that faced a new Ice Age. A future where ghouls walked the Earth, ravenous for human flesh.
A world where she was drawn to a man who was already dead...
Ooohhhh... Nora has a pleasant voice to listen to as well, so I can definitely see myself getting sucked into this book. Take a listen for yourself, and get stuck in the future along with Rosemary and join her on her adventures!

I remember it was just over a year ago, in January, that SS began podcasting its show. They certainly have come a long way- yay for them!
New Audio Drama Production Company
They've also have a work all ready available! Buried in Falling Sand, from the preview, sounds REALLY good:
"In the near future, the salvation of every employee in America, from executives and politicians down to the lowly cashier, suddenly appears in pill form, consumed daily to erase memory of time at work. Everyone in society feels like they are in a perpetual paid vacation, including Tom, who works at a video rental store while on the drug. But when he forgets to take his morning hit, will his life ever be the same?"
I totally could use some liquid amnesia today...
You can purchase the entire production for a buck ninety-nine, that is awesome! Why I think I might just check this thing out! LOL!
Check out their site today, geez if anything for the awesome web design. Totally impressive, and Dreamseed's work sounds pretty impressive too!

Oh Canada! $75 More For An Ipod?
The Canadian Private Copying Collective, which consists of composers, recording artists and record labels, is once again bringing a tax to the forefront that will raise the price of your iPod north of the United States border.
The debate is centered around artists beind properly compensated for the copying of their files onto an iPod.
David Basskin, who is on the Collective’s Board of Directors, says it shouldn’t be too difficult to have this tax passed by Parliament.
“When parliament passed the law in 1997, they could have attached a shopping list of media but they chose not to do that. They chose to let the law flex with the technology because there were none in 1997,” he said. “What the court hasn’t dealt with yet is the status of an iPod (as a whole).”
If passed, the tax could raise the price of an iPod by $75.Wednesday, February 07, 2007
